Sex Stories We Love: Breastfeeding During Sex, Engaging the Elusive, & Sex Retail Solidarity
We examine the contentious issues of breastfeeding during intercourse, hooking up, unionizing sex store workers, and more in this week's Sex Stories We Love!
It seems that controversy and sex go hand in hand. Or at least they have a fascinating but controversial connection. It's said that you shouldn't discuss politics or religion with people you don't know well, but have you noticed how sex is excluded? There is no invitation for the elephant to enter the room. We discuss both in this week's Sex Stories We Love!
Breastfeeding During Sex
When it comes to sex, bloggers and vloggers will always be the ones who make the most noise. These are our most open channels for exchanging ideas, worries, responses, and observations. If you want to find controversy over sex, check out the blogs. One recent case touched on a particularly delicate subject: sex and new parents. Family beds are one aspect of attachment parenting, which is becoming increasingly popular. Well, there was a lot of backlash against Tasha Maile's video post about nursing her baby during intercourse. This article, however, puts things in context. The baby was not included in the sex by Maile. Two distinct activities were taking place at the same time. Since breasts can play various roles depending on their "owner's desires," the child was not sexualized. The baby was sleeping, too. This won't affect the child, and they won't remember anything. And for the sake of their sanity, parents must occasionally multitask. Dammit. Will everyone be able to attend? No. It's good enough if it benefits Maile, her spouse, and their child.
Nice to Meet You. Wanna ...?
One of the most frequently asked questions is, "Would you have sex with a stranger?" For a long time, this has served as a gauge for your potential sexual orientation. Since we're more willing to investigate people's preferences, it's not the only inquiry asked these days. The question of whether you would consent to having sex with a stranger or someone you've just met is still quite popular, but is it? Depending on who you are discussing it with, this may vary. Although the several studies discussed in this recent Psychology Today article center on in-person requests for anonymous sex, they don't address hook-up apps and dating websites like Plenty of Fish, Blender, Grindr, Tinder, and countless more. Maybe that clarifies why some people are down to fuck while others aren't. Do persons of all genders have a higher propensity to engage in sexual activity with a stranger if they first interact with them electronically? That study should be combined with the others, in my opinion.
Engaging the Elusive
Putting on their best disguises and going on a unicorn quest is one of the more popular methods people use to search for a stranger to have sex with. It may seem harsh to characterize finding a single lady to bring into your coupled sex as a hunt, but for some people who have been contacted for this kind of circumstance, that is precisely how it feels. The unique Luna Matatas recently wrote a piece that advises couples who want to include a third person in their sexytime activities. Too frequently, the idea of using a third person becomes very vague. They may end up standing for more of an ideal than a real person. They may stop being equal in enjoyment and start acting more like inanimate objects. This can even occur during and after the actual sex, as Luna describes. Therefore, if you're searching for this enjoyable experience, ensure everyone has a nice time.
Sex Retail Solidarity
Speaking about uncomfortable threesomes, we typically associate retail settings with interactions between customers and store employees. Not to mention that the shop owner is also frequently included in that calculation. These three groups may occasionally clash, as they do in all workplaces, with employees commonly caught in the middle. The proprietors want to turn a profit by selling the products. Customers prefer to spend as little money as possible while purchasing the goods. In some manner, the employees mediate this interaction so that both parties are satisfied, which can be particularly difficult at a sex shop where a variety of people are dealing with a sensitive topic. Thankfully, a union now represents the employees of Pleasure Chest locations in New York City, allowing them to voice their concerns to management. Although there is still debate around unions, I know several people who have entered and left the sex retail industry quickly due to the complex working circumstances. The assistance of a union could be crucial.
Drawing Conclusions?
Could a column about sex-related controversies have been written without bringing up porn? Pornography is as controversial as a thunderstorm's CN Tower. The treatment of the performers, whether the content is too extreme for people to participate in, if there should be greater diversity among the audience, and many other issues are frequently raised about porn. What happens when people are removed from the equation? That should help resolve some of the problems, but it doesn't. Despite its increasing popularity, animated porn can be equally controversial. Glamour Magazine's Nicole Guappone makes some excellent comments regarding the value and applicability of being able to distinguish between live-action and animated porn. However, the capacity to remove the human doesn't address other problems, as is seen in other sex industries. The ethical dilemma of displaying robots that resemble children is growing in popularity, along with sex dolls and robots. For animated porn, the same might be said. When porn isn't "real," is it still safe to consume? I would love to know what readers think of this and hope it gets explored!
So Many Strings Attached
Lastly, the proof that the 1970s were a crazy time of exploration... and strange ideas is coming in, such as this controversial pornographer Al Goldstein's puppet sex film. Is it visible to anyone? When it comes to watching this, I'm not sure if sex writer curiosity might override sound judgment.
