Although people's loves and hates vary significantly by gender, they are generally comparable across nations.
Which of your experiences in bed has been the most embarrassing? What about a behavior that you truly detested from your partner? That you truly cherished?
In a recent poll conducted by the website SuperDrug.com, 2,000 Europeans and Americans were asked about awkward situations, bedroom hates, and bedroom favas. The findings are intriguing, particularly when broken down by gender. Let's examine a few of the most intriguing results.
Well, This Is Awkward ...
Only lasting a few minutes (number one for males), experiencing a muscle cramp (number one overall and number one for women), knocking something over, getting interrupted, and falling off the bed or couch are among the top 15 most embarrassing things that have happened to people during their sexual interactions.
Remarkably, 5.5% of respondents acknowledged breaking a piece of furniture during intercourse, and 3.5% cited "kissing an armpit" as an unpleasant event. For me, that may be interpreted as a complement or as a reminder that I need more durable furniture.
The most frequent awkward event in Poland and Belgium lasted barely a few minutes. Muscle cramping was more common in the US.
I Love It When ...
Respondents were also asked in the study what they truly wanted to happen during a sexual encounter. Men's main priority is to request that the performance be filmed. This doesn't particularly surprise me. Since men are visual beings, it is not uncommon for them to desire to record interactions. Women exclusively ranked No. 5, indicating a significant disparity in this specific choice.
Bringing food into the bed is the #1 priority for women. Since the poll makes no mention of how the food item is to be utilized, we can presume that it contains items like chocolate and whipped cream.
Leaving a window open is in the top three for both men and women, suggesting that people have an exhibitionist streak. For men, getting your clothes torn is number five, whereas for women, getting someone else's clothes torn is number three. It's true that individuals enjoy it when their significant other expresses an intense desire for them and tearing garments is a terrific method to achieve it!
I Hate It When ...
Last but not least are the deal breakers—things that consumers absolutely detest. These are some of the answers to the survey's question on what might cause someone to break off a sexual relationship.
Men and women agree on this one: being called by the wrong name is almost guaranteed to get you kicked out of bed and, most likely, out of the relationship. At 19.1% of respondents, it was the most significant deal-breaker overall.
Third and second place go to loud farts and silent but deadly farts, respectively, while urinating a little comes in at number four for both sexes. The responses then start to differ; women detest it when their partner burps, bites, or sneezes on them, while men say that having their penis bent incorrectly is a deal breaker.
It's interesting to see that the most significant deal-breakers varied per nation. Farting was more of a problem in Spain, Austria, and Belgium than being called by the wrong name in the majority of them.
