The Standing 69 Position

A difficult variant of the conventional 69 position is the Standing 69 position.

Starting with the heavier, stronger partner seated in a chair or bed is the ideal method to enter this sex position. After that, the lighter partner rests their head on the heavier person's lap. The lesser partner can then be turned upside down by the heavier partner. Each partner should have both heads between their thighs. While in this position, both partners should put their arms around each other's waists. The stronger and heavier partner can complete the Standing 69 position by standing up.

The upside-down partner should try to rest the tops of their legs on the shoulders of the standing partner to help maintain their weight. The strong leg muscles can be used to aid in holding the upside-down partner in place by actively pushing through the tops of the thighs.

Before attempting to exit the Standing 69 position, have a plan. The inverted partner may come down in a headstand or forearm stand, or the original directions may be reversed.

Dangers of the Standing 69 Position

We don't need to warn you about the dangers of this position. Someone is upside down, supported solely by the physical strength of both spouses. If this person is dumped, there is a serious risk of paralysis or death. This cannot be emphasized enough.

The fact that both partners are having oral sex at the same time exacerbates this. When one person begins to inch toward orgasm, the muscle contractions might become perilous to keep the upside-down partner's body in the air. Oral sex is distracting in and of itself.

Because of all of this, the Inverted 69 position is precarious.

The Unpredictable Impacts of Orgasms

Make sure you've navigated approaching orgasm while in this position, even if the pose itself falls within your risk tolerance. When holding someone's body in the air or being held upside-down, you don't want them to experience the unanticipated effects of orgasms.

Recognizing that it may be simpler to tap out before either partner becomes fatigued, if an orgasm is achieved in this position, if the table is off. When muscles tire, both parties should agree to switch to a new position rather than letting ego (or "I'm almost there!") get in the way. The Taste of Bliss position gives enjoyable intricacy without the risk of losing someone, if you want to keep the challenge.

Dizziness

Watch for lightheadedness as well. Long-term body inversions can induce nausea and vertigo, particularly if the partner isn't accustomed to inversions. It might also result in unconsciousness if taken too far. At the first sign of dizziness, exit the Standing 69 posture and maintain open lines of contact. This could be within a minute for some folks.

The Standing 69 is a photogenic sex position that will make you and your partner feel like sex ninjas if everything works out. It's a challenge, even if it's not the most practical for enjoyment!

Modifying the Standing 69 Position

The Standing 69 position can be changed in a few ways to make it safer for the typical couple. All of these changes still turn one partner upside down and divert their attention from oral sex, though. It is essential to ensure both partners switch positions before becoming fatigued.

Use a Yoga Swing

Many aerial yoga practices involve flipping upside down using a sling resembling a giant cloth swing. The same concepts apply to the Inverted 69 position. The yoga swing can support most of the upside-down partner's body weight as they enjoy the Inverted 69 position if they are accustomed to aerial yoga.

This could be your justification if they have never seen a yoga swing! Searching for "yoga inversion swings" often yields beneficial results.

Use a Wall

Placing one partner's back against a wall may provide additional pressure and friction, which some couples may feel makes this position more durable.

Use an Inversion Stool

If the upright partner kneels, you might discover that utilizing a headstand bench places the upside-down spouse at the proper height, even though you might not find the ideal angles using an inversion stool. This can offer a stable, sturdy surface to prevent the upside-down partner from falling to the ground face-first.

It's quite an accomplishment in and of itself, but depending on the angle and your headstand bench, you might also need to switch to oral sex exclusively on the upside-down partner to make it work!
