Sex Blogger of the Month: The Ersties Podcast

Great discussions about sex, porn, the sex industry, and other related subjects can be found in this new podcast.

Podcasts are fantastic! Podcasts on sex are great! However, we don't have a fantastic method to highlight them on the website yet. As a result, we occasionally feature excellent sex podcasts in our series of "Sex Blogger of the Month." We were thrilled when the Ersties Podcast reached out to be featured because we had featured podcasts before, but it had been a long time. Although we were unaware of this relatively new podcast, we listened and found it interesting. The Ersties Podcast covers a wide range of themes related to the porn industry, including censorship, camming, ethical porn, and more. It is not just a sex podcast. It frequently features performers as guests, who offer some intriguing perspectives on subjects that even porn fans might not be well-versed in. Great discussions about sex, porn, the sex industry, and other related subjects may be found here. You ought to listen to it. However, in the interim, listen to our chat with the Ersties Podcast staff.

Kinkly: Give us three words that describe your podcast.

Ersties: kinky, sex-positive, and hilarious

Kinkly: What inspired you to start the podcast?

Ersties: Paulita Pappel, Lina Bembe, Pandora Passmore, and Olivia Rose are friends from all over the world. We represent a mix of industry professionals and complete novices, and our backgrounds are very varied. It creates a variety of conversation topics. Furthermore, not everyone in our culture, or even in our own lives, has the kind of open discussion we do about sex. To allow others the same freedom to discuss and consider sex, we wanted to spread that information. We want to connect with people on sexual themes, and listening to podcasts can be like hanging out with a bunch of individuals who feel like your friends.

Kinkly: What's behind the name?

Ersties: Ersties, a feminist pornographic website created by women, is the source of the term. With our podcast, we wish to communicate our love of pleasure and the way it can be shared through pornography.

Kinkly: Who's your target listener?

Ersties: Everyone interested in learning more about relationships and sex in our culture and their own personal life. That person might be a BDSM dominatrix or someone with minimal experience with kink; both can identify with Paulita's accounts of breathplay in I Kink Therefore I Am and say, "Oh yeah, been there."

Kinkly: What's unique about your podcast?

Ersties: It's completely shamelessly unapologetically honest. We also have some fantastic artwork from Millie Moonhouse.

Kinkly: What topic do you find yourself covering most often and why?

Ersties: Most likely in the middle of all the various ways we might live out our sexualities and form relationships, from the dangers of dating apps to polyamorous pairings. That doesn't precisely address your issue, but in essence, we are perverts who live in Berlin, a city known for its sex culture, and we discuss and adore everything equally. We are powerless over ourselves.

Kinkly: What was your most popular show ever? Why do you think it drew so many listeners?

Ersties: Episode #6 of our special two-part series on censorship. To find out about the new censorship rules in the United Kingdom that will require you to enter your personal information to see pornography, we attended the London Porn Festival (!). To get to the core of how censorship of sexual freedom can cost other liberties, how it is connected to border closures, and how it affects our privacy, we spoke with a wide range of professionals in the field, including journalists, filmmakers, attorneys, and industry professionals. We were also taught how Victorian our present views on sex and porn are, and how women, sex workers, the queer community, and other disadvantaged groups suffer as a result. Since the goal of this new law is to protect "the children," we envision a society in which every adult and kid has the freedom to explore and express their sexuality freely.

The incredible voices you hear in this episode—from Holly Randall to pornographic filmmakers and obscenity lawyer Myles Jackman, as well as Erika Lust's spouse, Pablo, Vex Ashley, Pandora Blake, and others at the festival—are likely what made it so popular. Beyond the notion that sex and pornography are ethically repugnant, we truly wanted to present a broader picture of what they could be. But to learn more, you'll need to listen!

Kinkly: What's the best thing about hosting a sex podcast?

Ersties: being able to continue learning about sex, discovering new things for ourselves, and being attention-seekers for those who pay attention. One man tells us that listening to our podcast with his spouse has greatly aided them in being more adventurous and opening up their relationship. We adore that.

Kinkly: What's the worst thing about it?

Ersties: You must accept that those who listen to it are essentially aware of every vile detail of your sexual life. However, we would likely learn yours in a few minutes if you spent time with any of us.

Kinkly: OK, now for the good stuff: Give us your best tip for great sex.

Ersties: Maintain a connection with both your spouse and yourself. You can stay connected and have AMAZING sex by using words, breath, and enjoying the groans (sorry, neighbors).
