Polyandry

Being married to more than one man at the same time is known as polyandry. Although it falls under the general term "polygamy," it relates specifically to the practice of having several husbands concurrently.

More About Polyandry

Although polyandry is practiced in many places of the world, records show that it is significantly less common than its counterpart, polygyny. In many cultures, the idea of partible paternity—where a kid has more than one father—is intimately associated with polyandry. Additionally, it can be used to maintain family land ownership and control population expansion.
